Schools In: D.C. Lottery Winner Claims $50,000 Playing “Funky 5s” Scratch Card
This will straighten me out for the rest of the year,” smiled Alfred Schools, as he claimed his $50,000 prize from the D.C. Scratcher Funky 5’s.
The Suitland, MD resident likes to play different instant scratch ticket games and decided to try Funky 5’s on whim, while out with his son. He bought the ticket while in Washington D.C.
“I couldn’t believe I won,” he noted.
“I asked my son to check my ticket, and he said ‘Yes, you’ve won.’” Schools bought his winning ticket at a store on Alabama Ave., SE.
He plans to share his prize money with his children and vacation in North Carolina and New Jersey.
