Going to the “Extreme”, North Carolina Player Scratches and Wins $200,000
Michael Wallace, a retail associate from Fayetteville, N.C., said he’ll use a $200,000 lottery prize to take care of his wife and family, and maybe buy a new truck.
Wallace purchased a $5 Extreme Green ticket late one afternoon in Fayetteville and put it in his pocket. Later that evening, while working on his truck at home, he scratched it off and realized he won the top prize. Wallace hurried to his mother’s house to share the good news.
Wallace, who is a stroke survivor, said he was “happy” and “grateful” as he claimed his winnings at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After state and federal taxes were withheld, he received a check for $136,001.
Wallace also said he has three sisters who are teachers in Cumberland County.
I expect he’ll help them out a bit oo.
