North Carolina Woman Claims $380,483 Cash 5 Prize; Also in N.C., a $250,000 Mega Millions Winner
“Carolina Cash 5” and Mega Millions paid off in a big way for two North Carolinians.
Tammy McNeill, a security guard from Fayetteville, North Carolina felt like she was in a daze when she realized her ticket from the Aug. 30 “Cash 5” drawing had won the top prize of $380,483.
““I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t believe it,” she said. “I’m a mother’s girl and when my mom said,’I won,’ I said, ‘We won.’”
McNeill is a regular lottery player whose favorite game is “Carolina Cash 5.” She plans to use her winnings,worth $258,728 after taxes, to pay bills, purchase a new car for herself and her mother and share with her family.
Meanwhile…also in the Tar Heel state, James Rice of Candler in Buncombe County matched five white balls but not the Mega Ball in the Aug. 17 Mega
Millions drawing and won $250,000.
“It was a great blessing, for sure,” Rice said of his win.
He plans to use his winnings, worth $170,000 after taxes, to pay off bills.
