Ticket Alert: Someone in Florida is About to Loser $251,493 (So Check Your Tickets)
Someone who reads this blog religiously suggested to me that we should sometimes alert viewers to jackpots that are about to expire (and go back into the general fund of a state). We can’t let that happen. Y’know?
The Florida Lottery announced today that a FANTASY 5® top-prize ticket worth $251,493.08 remains unclaimed. The 180-day limit to claim the top prize expires tonight, June 21, at midnight.
The winning FANTASY 5 numbers for the December 23, 2009 drawing were:
5-23-28-29-31
The winning ticket was sold at:
Publix
16800 N. Kendall Drive
Miami (Miami-Dade County)
Players who may have purchased FANTASY 5 tickets at Publix in Miami are encouraged to check their tickets for the December 23 drawing.
While any Florida Lottery retailer can validate the winning ticket, the FANTASY 5 jackpot must be claimed at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
My book (see cover to right), by the way, is filled with stories about people (winners) who didn’t realize they were holding winning tickets and just beat the deadline.
I want you all to check your tickets if you were in that Publix store on or around that date.
We don’t want the state to get that money back.
OK?
Now THIS is great gaming news! What do I do now?
