Long Island Couple Owes Government $1,000,000? No Big Deal When You’ve Just Won a $162 Million Mega Millions Jackpot
This is a cool story. Might have to put it in my next book (see book to right).
Some background: I grew up on Long Island, so this story really intrigued me.
Seems like this couple allegedly scammed the government out of nearly $1 million. Of course, they deny this. But the allegations persist…that they ran a homeless shelter and doled out bonuses to themselves among other things.
Doesn’t really matter now.
The couple, Mary and Richard Morrison recently won a Mega Millions jackpot worth $162 million.
Mary said she bought her lottery tickets, $5 worth… and then was shocked to find out that it was the winning ticket.
They live a wonderful life, anyway, said a neighbor, quoted in the NY Daily News last week. “But I wish they’d just pay off their debt.”
Word is they are on vacation and have already bought a Lexus.
Now THIS is great gaming news! What do I do now?
