The Family That Plays Together, Wins ($12.5 Million in Canadian Dollars) Together (Sometimes)
A Burlington, Ontario, Canadian family that plays as a family has hit it big playing Lotto Max, a Canadian Lottery game.
The family won playing the Nov. 27 draw.
The family, Wilfred Greenwood, his wife Herma and Daughter, Sanchia, play the lottery together every week. Sanchia said she collects the money every week, $2, from every family member.
On Nov. 26 she bought tickets for the Lotto Max draw that carried a $25 million (Canadian) jackpot. And won.
That Saturday, she went to the store to scan her ticket in the self-checker and she couldn’t believe what she saw.
The ticket was one of two winning tickets, and worth $12.5 million.Wilfred Greenwood said they had never won anything substantial before.
Until now, that is.
At the time of their win, Wilfred, Herma, and Sanchia Greenwood lived in Burlington, Ontario, Canada (About 20 minutes west of Toronto).
Wilfred is 71, Herma, 67, and Sanchia, 38 . Wilfred said the moneywill not change the family.
They all say that. In the beginning. Sure. It’s nice to say that but I know from having spoken to thousands of lottery winners, their life will change. Hopefully, with wise financial advice, for the better.
