I love it when the men and women in our military win big lottery prizes.
A quarter-million dollar lottery win is the latest hire for one military supervisor.
Shirley Devlin, a resident of Sharpsburg, Georgia, matched the first five winning numbers in the Aug. 14 Mega Millions drawing, winning a second prize of $250,000.
”It’s hard to believe,” said Devlin, a supervisor at Dobbins Air Reserve Base.
Winning numbers from the Aug. 14 Mega Millions drawing were: 8-22-25-33-35 and the Mega Ball was 46.
She bought the winning Quik Pik ticket at Newnan One Stop, in Newnan, Georgia.
Devlin, 59, found the results on the Georgia Lottery¹s Web site, and her husband double checked the ticket.
”We looked at each other and asked, do you think it¹s real?” she recalled. The couple, who have three adult sons and eight grandchildren, plan to pay bills with the prize. ”Winning makes a big difference,” said Devlin, who anticipates retiring next year.
GAMES WE PLAY:
The Sept 1 Mega Millions game offers up a $12 million jackpot.
The Sept. 2 Powerball game has a $45 million jackpot.
The Sept. 4 Euro Millions jackpot is 28 million euros, or about $44 million, U.S.
Good luck, everyone.
