Who says you can’t get something for nothing?
Remember the rock group Dire Straits and their song…”Money for Nothing”?
In Georgia, a player’s free Fantasy 5 ticket has translated into a $1.3 million jackpot win for a Hoschton, Georgia man.
Robert Patterson Jr. won the prize with a free ticket that matched all five winning numbers in the July 17 Fantasy 5 drawing.
“It was on a free ticket, and I think that’s probably important for everyone to know,” said Patterson, who won the ticket by matching two of five numbers in a previous Fantasy 5 drawing.
Patterson checked the game results online and was excited to discover his win.
“I just looked at it and said, ‘I’m going to travel,’ ” he explained. “I don’t know where yet but probably Europe and some islands. It is exciting, the possibilities.”
GAMES WE PLAY:
The July 28 Mega Millions game carries a $60 million jackpot. Not too bad.
But the Powerball July 29 jackpot is even higher, at $102 million.
And the Euro MIllions July 31 jackpot tops out at about 28 million euros, or $39 million, in U.S. dollars.
Good luck to all of us around the world, who play.
