Winning the lottery is just the beginning

$100,000 Maryland Lottery Scratch-Game Winner is a U. of Maryland Student

Being late to work paid off for Susana Sagastizado.

The 21 year old overslept, missed her bus to work and somehow…this led to her winning $100,000.

Not that we’re advising you to be late for work…but it sure worked out for Sagastizado.

She is employed at an optomitrist’s office. And lives in Silver Springs, Maryland.

She spent the morning at home with her father, who loves playing scratch off games. He was the one who convinced his daughter to buy a Maryland Lottery “Lucky Times 10″ ticket.

When she scratched off the ticket, she said, “I couldn’t believe it. I never thought I would win.”

But win she did. $100,000.

Sagastizado said she’d share her prize money with her family. A criminology student at the U. of Maryland, the winnings will help her pay bills and buy a laptop. She also said she’ll help her brother, who will be attending college this fall, buy books.

GAMES WE PLAY:

The June 24 Powerball jackpot is $20 million.

The June 26 Euro Millions jackpot is reset at 15 million euros, after one lucky ticket holder in Portugal won last week’s 15 million euros prize.
