Relief From the Flood Comes in the Form of a $100,000 Lottery Win
After losing everything last year in a flood,Martinsville, Indiana, resident Patricia Huber is getting a second chance, thanks to the Hoosier Lottery.
Huber recently claimed a $100,000 prize on the new Hoosier Lottery game, “$100,000 Double Play,” a Scratch-off and Pull-Tab all in one game.
“I lost everything a year ago in the flood,” said Huber. “It’s been a bad couple of years. My roomate just lost her job yesterday and I’ve got a lot of pressure on me.”
Huber, who works in the Information Technology Department at Indianapolis Public Schools, plans to use her winnings in a way that will help her in the long run.
Huber says she had recently decided to pursue a bachelors degree but wasn’t sure how to pay for it. Now she knows exactly how. She also has ambitious plans to eventually earn post graduate degrees in graphic design related fields.
“The first thing I’m going to do is pay off my van and get a computer,” said Huber. “I don’t even have a computer. I lost it in the flood.”
Huber’s plans for the money also include some much needed rest and relaxation.
“I’ve never been on vacation. I’m going on vacation, ” said Huber. “I’ve got friends in Australia that I would love to visit.”
“It rocks! It really rocks!” said Huber.
We are so happy for you, Patricia. Live long and prosper (I just saw the new “Star Trek.” It rocks too.)
