Special Delivery: Virginia Postman Wins $150,000

Joseph Bailey of Alexandria was watching television with his wife when he decided to check the winning numbers in that evening’s Virginia Lottery Cash 5 drawing.

His wife read the numbers to him and they sounded VERY familiar.

“Say that again!” he said. So she read the numbers a second time.

“They’re mine, baby! They’re mine!” he exclaimed.

Bailey matched all five numbers with two tickets in the April 21 Cash 5 night drawing. Both tickets had identical numbers.

On one ticket, he wagered $1.00 to win $100,000; on the other, he wagered 50 cents to win $50,000. His total winnings came to $150,000.

He bought both winning tickets in Alexandria, Virginia.

There was no Powerball jackpot winner on May 20, so the May 23 jackpot is now $192 million, far and away the biggest jackpot currently in the world.

The winning numbers for the May 20 game are 20,30,31,35,42 and the Power ball is 6. [At least I picked that one.]

5 tickets matched the first five numbers but missed the Power ball.
Those tickets were bought in Connecticut ($200,000), Idaho (2 tickets, each worth $200,000), Minnesota ($200,000), Missouri ($200,000) and North Carolina ($1 million, because the ticket was Power Played).
