Mega Millions’ Jackpot Rolls Over to $40 Million on Friday
There were no jackpot winners in the Jan. 27 Mega Millions game so the big prize rolls over to a tidy sum of $40 million on Friday.
The winning numbers were 3,11,12,14,21 and the Mega ball was 25.
11 tickets matched the first five numbers and won $250,000 each. Those tickets were bought in California (where the second prize is actually less than the $250,000; the state spreads out its wins below the jackpot level), Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York (3 tickets), Texas (2) and Virginia.
70 tickets matched four the first five plus the Mega ball. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Overall there were 417,020 winning tickets taking home $5,319,130.
