Georgia Lottery Player Wins $203,300
A lottery win has come in handy for one Marietta, Georgia, handyman with a Buy One, Get One Free Fantasy 5 ticket. Roy Hixon, 49, won a $203,300 top prize from matching all five winning numbers in a late November drawing.
Now, he and his wife, Cheri, are celebrating. Winning numbers from the drawing were 9-12-24-26-35.
“I could always see myself winning,” the father of two adult children said.
Talk about the power of positive thinking!
Hixon received his “Fantasy 5 Friday” free Quik Pik ticket in Marietta.
A Georgia Bulldogs college football fan, Hixon learned he held the winning ticket after watching a rivalrous college football game.
“I was upset about the football game, but I’m excited about my lottery win,” he shared. He was talking about the team’s loss to rival Georgia Tech.
According to Hixon, he plans to donate to various charities. A perfect scenario in this festive holiday season.
Every Friday in Georgia is what they call “Fantasy 5 Friday,” with a Buy One, Get One Free promotion that will continue through Jan. 16, 2009.
So if you happen to live in Georgia, or are visiting, keep that in mind.
Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is $29 million.
Tonight’s Euro MIllions jackpot is 26 million Euros.
Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is $70 million.
