Lottery Moments

A few days ago, I listed the Mega Millions hot and cold numbers. I was then asked by Powerball players to do the same for them.

Ask, and you shall receive.

As you know, there is a theory, which some ascribe to, that some numbers can be hot…show up a lot. Other players look for numbers that are due to be drawn, because of the law of averages. Those are cold numbers.

As a blogger, and as a non-believer in systems, I can’t ever tell you this works. But personally, I tend to play “cold” numbers.

I went back 20,30 and 40 games for both hot and cold numbers. Here is what I found out.

The coldest Powerball numbers in the first five field are 22 and 27. Those numbers have NOT shown up over the past 40 games. Maybe they are due. [Or maybe not. It's all up to your play philosophy.]

20 game analysis:

First five hot numbers: 32 and 39 were pulled 5 times. 3,4,8,13,17,26,36 40 and 52 were pulled 4 times.
First five cold numbers: These numbers have NOT been drawn over the last 20 games: 15,16,22,23,27,28,35,42,46,53.

The Power ball: The number 2 has been drawn 3 times. 14,15,33 have been drawn twice. All the rest have been drawn once or not once.

Last 30 Games analysis:
First five numbers:
Hot:32 has been drawn 7 times. 17,26,40 drawn 6 times. 13,36,39,47,48 drawn 5 times.
Cold numbers: 22,27,42, not drawn

Power ball:
Hot: 2 has been drawn 3 times., 11,14,15,18,26,33 have been drawn twice.

Last 40 games analysis:
First five numbers:
Hot: 32,40 have been drawn 8 times. 3,5,13,17,26,36,52 have been drawn 6 times.
Cold: 22, 27 have NOT been drawn.

Power ball:
Hot: 2 has been drawn 5 times. 18 and 26 have been drawn 3 times.
