Winning the lottery is just the beginning

$100,000 Lottery Prize Won by Maryland Auto Worker

Chrysler is going through some very tough times. That’s why I’m happy for auto worker Anthony Harrington, who up to now hasn’t won much playing the Maryland Lottery.

“I win a lot of small amounts with scratch-offs,” he said. But it was one of those small wins that helped him to win big. Harrington cashed a $10 winning ticket and purchased a Golden Ticket scratch-off, which won him a $100,000 top prize.

The 51-year-old scratched the Gold Numbers on the ticket first and then moved on to his game numbers. He didn’t uncover any of the prize amounts until he saw that one set of his numbers matched.

“I didn’t know what I had won until the last minute,” said Harrington. That evening, Harrington and 16 of his friends celebrated the win with a congratulatory dinner.

Harrington plans to use the winnings to pay off his new car and keep the rest as a safety net. The future of the Chrysler ARC transmission plant where Harrington works is in question.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I’ve been on and off the job all this year depending on the business and with this it gives me a little back up should the plant close,” he said.

We wish him and his fellow auto workers much luck.

By the numbers:

Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth $12 million.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is $52 million.

Watch tomorrow morning for my weekend Alerts.

Good luck.

Hey great story, over here in the UK the ford plant in Southampton close to me, has gone down to 4 days a week. It would be good if some of them could win some money on the lottery, like this lucky lady.

I’ll be including a lot more “case histories”…or stories about UK and European winners in the future.

I’ll also start running news about Euro-Millions.

I hope you and your lottery playing friends will join our group.
